Deleting your account
You can delete a Bexongo account yourself, in the app or in the web portal. This page explains where to find it, what is removed and what is kept.
Where to find it
- In the Bexongo app: Settings → Privacy and data → Delete account. Type your password and the word DELETE to confirm.
- In the customer portal: Settings → Privacy and data → Delete my account.
- In the driver portal: Account → Your data → Close my account.
- Before deleting, you can download a copy of everything the account holds under “Download my data” on the same screen.
What is removed
Your name, email address, phone number and saved addresses are removed, every session on every device is ended, and your sign-in stops working. For a driver account, the business details, vehicles and documents the account recorded are removed from the live platform the same way.
What is kept, and why
Drives you posted or carried are kept with your details replaced by “Deleted account”, because the other party to each drive has records of its own to keep, and because invoices and proofs of delivery fall under statutory retention. Legal acceptances, billing records and the audit trail are kept for the periods set out in the Privacy Notice. Anything under a legal hold, such as an open dispute, is released only when the hold ends.
When deletion is refused
Deletion is refused while a drive is still open on the account. Complete or cancel open drives first, then try again. A driver account with an active subscription bought on the website should cancel it first; a subscription bought through the App Store or Google Play has to be cancelled in that store, because deleting the Bexongo account does not cancel a store subscription.
If you cannot sign in
If you no longer have access to the account, contact Bexongo through the support channel named in the Imprint. Bexongo will verify that the request comes from the account holder before acting on it, and will tell you what was done. Imprint (Impressum).
